SAPTARI — Abhinandan Yadav, a 24-year-old resident of Belhi in Balan Bihul Rural Municipality–4 of Saptari, is in Indian police custody for an investigation connected to a killing at Gurgaon station, according to the chief of the District Police Office, Saptari.

Yadav was taken from his home at around midnight on Monday while he was sleeping, OnlineKhabar reported. His family said an unidentified armed group arrived at the house and took him away.

His father, Binod, told the publication that some members of the family sustained minor injuries during the incident. The family also alleged that Nepal Police did not show sufficient concern after being informed about what had happened.

OnlineKhabar contacted Saptari Police chief SP Rupak Khadka after allegations emerged that Yadav had been taken away from his home during the night. Khadka said Yadav was in the custody of Indian police.

According to information attributed to Indian police in the report, Yadav is a person linked to a killing at Gurgaon station. A source cited by OnlineKhabar said he had been taken to India for investigation into that case.

The Indian side has also claimed that Yadav possesses an Indian Aadhaar card. The OnlineKhabar report did not provide further documentation independently establishing that claim.

At the time of publication, local residents were demonstrating outside the Belhi Police Post following the incident.
